JoSAA Counselling Process & Step By Step Guidelines
Registration for JoSAA (Joint Seat Allocation Authority) starts from 2nd week of June 2018. JoSAA Counselling 2018 Starts With the Registration and Choice filling. Mainly JoSAA Conducts 7 Rounds of Counselling.
Who Can Apply For JoSAA ?
Student who has a valid score in JEE-MAINS / JEE-Advance can Apply for their Respective NIT/IIIT/GFTIs/IIT and other Institutes which Participates in JoSAA.JoSAA Important Dates :
JEE (Advanced) Airs will be declared by JAB | 14 June 2018 |
JEE(Main) AIR will be declared by Joint Apex Board | 14 June 2018 |
Commencement of filling up of choices of academic programs in participating institutes | 15 June 2018 |
Mock seat allocation based on choices filled in by candidates will be displayed on | 20 June 2018 {1st mock allocation}

Documents Required:
- Three Passport Size Photographs identical to the one uploaded during JEE-Mains Registration.
- Provisional Seat Allotment Letter.
- Admit Card of JEE-Main.
- JEE-Main Score card.
- Class 10th Mark sheet or Birth certificate.
- Class 12th Mark sheet if available.
- Identity Card (Aadhar card/12th Admit Card/School Id card)
- Category Certificate (OBC/SC/ST)
- Disability Certificate (For Pwd)
- Registration-cum-locked choices for seat allotment.
- Proof of seat acceptance fee payment by e-challan or internet banking of SBI [For SC/ST/PwD: Rs. 20,000/- For others: Rs. 45,000/-]
- OCI certificate or PIO card (For Foreign Nationalities)
- Class 12th Performance check ( format given in Annexure 7(a) of JoSAA Business rules )
Process of Applying :
Step 1: Online Registration
Candidates Need to Login to the JoSAA Official Website and Register themselves using JEE-main Roll Number And Password.
Step 2: Choice Filling & Locking
* Now, Candidates have to select “Choice Available” option.
- *Select Institute Type, Institute Name & Academic Programme.
- *Now, Click on the “Choice Filling & Locking” option.
- *Choose Colleges & Courses. Fill maximum possible choices for allotment.
- *Arrange filled choices in decreasing order of the preferences.
- *If candidates want to change the filled choice, then click on the “Choice Interchange” option.
- *Now, click on the option “Choice Rearrange”.
- *Arrange the colleges according to the preferences.
- *Click on the “Save” button.
- *If candidates want to delete their filled choices, click on the “Multiple Deletion” option.
- *Lock the choices before the deadline by clicking on the option “Lock Choice”.
- *Make choices carefully, choices one locked will not change.
- *Choice locking will be made after each round of counselling.
- *Candidates can mark upgraded choice in successive rounds of choice filling and locking process.
Step 3: Seat Allotment & Announcement of Rank List
According to Rank JoSAA Will Allocate your Seat to the input preferences (which you filled in step 2).The Rank will be Released Category Wise & Online Only.
Step 4: Fee Payment & Seat Acceptance
Now,Candidates have to Download their "Provisional Seat Allotment Letter" and e-challan for Seat Acceptance Fee.
SC/ST/PWD - Rs. 20,000
Others- Rs. 45,000
The fee is Accepted only Via State Bank net Banking and E-Challan.
Step 5: Reporting to Allocated Institute
Report to the designated institute for Physical Document Verification. Must Carry Above Listed All Original Documents with 3 Xerox of Each.Original Documents is only for Verification and they will keep your Xerox.
Step 6: Final Reporting at Allocated Institutes
Final Confirmation of Admission in the Allocated Institute Students must have to Report at the Respective Institutes.
